A Personal Christmas Message 2022

A year full of surprises, positive and negative, has come to an end. Let’s reflect upon the beautiful encounters, the new impressions and experiences we made, some fascinating developments we may have witnessed, but let’s also think of the loved ones that may no longer be with us.

The war at the periphery of Europe and natural disasters have shown us how vulnerable our planet, peace and stability in our society really are. Gratitude and a yearning for peace is something all of us need to carry on and transmit to the next generations. This can only happen by focusing on the essential and being aware – aware of our values, our spirits and life force, aware of our surroundings and neighbors.

As we experience years of crises and certain politicians overwhelm us with new horror scenarios and no real solutions, we need to find our own ways of dealing with crises. We can find strength with friends, in spiritual ways, or in nature itself. This year I had many chances to reflect upon the transience of our humanity. Yet I was also stunned to see something lasting and reassuring: the sunset behind the Great Pyramids, for example, or the sun bathing in the salty waves of the Mediterranean, or the trees on top of the mountains – wonderful impressions I warmly remember on days of hardship, stress and unease.

What are the images that are stuck on your mind and make you smile when you have one of those bad days? What are you grateful for? And what would you share with your loved ones for the near future?

Dear friends and visitors, dear readers and those who feel inspired by my writing: I thank you all for your support and will be happy to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this blog with you in the year to come.

A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023!
